The place was redecorated fully after the Thomas family sold it, so it's some other Armenians with bad taste.

I kinda like the exterior, and I'm trying to think if there's any way to salvage the interior. I mean, the patterned floors are interesting, but someone's gone in and added WALLPAPER AND MURALS BEHIND THE WALLPAPER to rooms with patterend floors!

Of course they forgot to add ceiling murals to those rooms, someone just wasn't committed to their look.

The moorish or oriental stylings are oddly matched to streamlined finishes. There are no moldings and there are plenty of long clean lines. I guess it needs to be stripped bare and redone with a minimalist fusion contemporary look.

It looks to be designed by a firm that does mosques.

Its looks more interesting in the video, thats for sure. But I would not feel restful on that perch/cliff in an earthquake zone.

The current owners ruined that house.

The house has great windows that should flood the house for an airy bright interior.

Instead their walls and decor give it a dark and dreary look.

It looks like the inside of a middle eastern restaurant. Maybe a clean one.

The ceilings are too low. Every room feels claustrophobic. So the external shell is the Danny Thomas design and the rest is new? The house was gutted?

It looks like a hotel. The patio is cold and drab looking. It desperately needs some greenery and color by the pool.

The Lalique is the only redeeming aspect of that train wreck of an interior. The structure itself is quite impressive however and the views......ridiculous.

Trousdale Estates is renowned for its midcentury-modern homes (see below for an example). Danny Thomas built the house in 1970, though, so it may be that the Moorish arches are original to the design.

No tennis court? No guest house? Not a gated community? I will be surprised if this ends up going for more than 75-80 million.

Thomas was responsible for Mary Tyler Moore's first "big break" in acting. In 1961, Carl Reiner cast her in The Dick Van Dyke Show after Thomas personally recommended Moore. He had remembered her as "the girl with three names" whom he had turned down earlier, but rediscovered her after a lengthy search through photos and records.
