Scherzer’s childhood interest in sports even got him selected in the 2003 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft in the 43rd round (1,291st overall) by St. Louis Cardinals but he rejected the offer to join the University of Missouri. later, Max Scherzer was chosen in the first round in 2006 that too 11th overall in the 2006 MLB draft by Arizona Diamondbacks. He then played for the team until the 2009 season. On the same lines, he was traded to Detroit Tigers on December 9, 2009, and played with them up to 2014.
