On Saturday, December 10, 2022, quarterback Caleb Williams of Southern California took home the Heisman Trophy. He became the fourth Trojan overall and the first Trojan since 2004 to take home the award. The other semifinalists were Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, and TCU quarterback Max Duggan.

HB Chicago In 1935, Jay Berwanger won the Heisman Trophy for the first time. Before the Heisman Trophy Trust was established in 2002. From 1935 through 2001, the Downtown Athletic Club gave out the award.
