15 Library Plaza, Marshfield, MA
If you are looking for a great way to spend a morning or afternoon, I highly suggest visiting the Marshfield Kids at Play Park. This playground is one of our all-time favorite playgrounds on the South Shore and the winner of both the Best Park or Playground and Best Place for a Playdate in our 2015 Gold Daisy Awards! It boasts an eco-friendly, 10,000 square foot, accessible to all design. The equipment and grounds are well kept and only 5 years old. The playground is located at 15 Library Plaza, across the parking lot from the public library. There is ample parking and restrooms are available in the library during business hours. It is also conveniently located near many great restaurants, shopping, and a short drive to the public beach. I have also noticed that the ice cream truck makes regular visits throughout the day.
There are so many reasons to love this playground. It is fully enclosed with a childproof locking gate. The majority of the space is filled with an amazing play structure made up of slides, ramps, ladders, monkey bars, tunnels and so much more. The structure has varying degrees of difficulty and is labeled to indicate/suggest age appropriate areas. My four year old loves to explore and play hide and seek on this structure. At one end of the park, you will find swings for every age and ability, including a tire swing. On the other end of the park, there is an impressive 9ft high climbing rock. In addition to all of the play equipment, there is also plenty of space for children to run around on the soft rubber ground covering. Caretakers will also appreciate the benches, picnic tables, and water bubbler for those who might need it.
Kids at Play Park can get very busy and crowded. There are several areas where you can lose sight of your child, especially at busy times. As I mentioned above, my child likes to explore and play hide and seek, my solution is to stay on my feet and move around to keep the best visual on her I can. There is no shade which is hard on very hot sunny days. I try to plan our trips at the beginning or end of a day before/after the sun is at its peak. We also tend to frequent the playground more when the weather is cooler in general.
I hope you have added Marshfield Kids at Play Park to your summer fun list. You might just see us there too!
