Duff opened up about her health and wellness secrets in an interview with Health. She revealed that she has an interesting approach to dieting and eating healthy. Duff says that she still indulges, but only in certain foods. "You just have to get creative and figure out what you like, and what you're actually going to dip into, instead of just grabbing something. Because really, the reality is, I want to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches all day long."
During the pandemic, Duff revealed on Instagram that she had started working out a lot more at home. She says that she made time for a quick workout each day. "I know it's extra hard to keep up and find normalcy in quarantine, but I truly hope you make at least 30 mins a day for yourself to stay connected," she wrote.
Duff tells Health that she makes relaxation and self-care a priority. She says that her favorite way to unwind after a busy day is running a hot bath with essential oils. "It is the most delightful, girly time that you could spend with yourself," she said.
Duff tells Cosmopolitan that she no longer puts pressure on herself to look a certain way. She says that as she's gotten older, she's learned to not care what she looks like. "I don't put a ton of pressure on myself to be, like, perfect," Duff says. "When I was younger, I felt a lot more pressures. I probably cared a lot more of what people said or thought about me."
Duff tells Cosmopolitan that she is more likely to eat healthy when she plans her meals for the week out ahead of time. "I try to make stuff over the weekend, like a big thing of quinoa to throw in some salad," she said. Duff says that this method keeps her from eating unhealthy foods, specifically her son's leftovers. "If I don't have stuff on hand that's healthy for me, I'll just clean up his plate, and that's not a good look."
