Former Warner Bros. Records Boss Dan McCarroll Joins Amazon Music In Content Creation Role

SEATTLE (CelebrityAccess) — Amazon Music announced that they’ve hired veteran label exec Dan McCarroll as Global Head of Originals and Artist Relations, indicating that the streaming music contender is planning to develop original content.

According to a press release, McCarroll’s new position will seem him collaborating with Amazon Music along with partner artists, managers, and labels, while managing Amazon Music’s Originals and Artist Relations team.

He will also work with artists and labels to bolster new music releases and build on a growing library of exclusive songs and albums for Amazon Music, the company said

“Dan is joining the Amazon Music team with an incredibly valuable artist’s perspective. As we continue to work closely with labels and artists to deliver music in new ways, Dan is bringing decades of experience both as a former musician, and a respected industry executive to our team,” said Alex Luke, Amazon Music’s global head of programming and content strategy.

“Amazon Music will continue to experiment and change the way customers interact with music through voice, and there’s no one more qualified than Dan to build upon our existing global offerings,” Luke added.

McCarroll most recent high profile gig was President of Warner Bros Records. Prior to joining Warner, he served as President of Capitol Records & Virgin Records Label Group and an Executive Vice President at EMI Music Publishing.
