The Arizona Coyotes have plans to host their games for the upcoming 2023–24 NHL season at the Mullett Arena. However, the team’s long-term presence in Arizona is uncertain following the rejection of a referendum on a new arena by the residents. This means that relocation is potentially anticipated in the team’s future. Hence, two-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes came forward with an intriguing proposal for the franchise.

The Chiefs quarterback proposed the idea of the Coyotes relocating to Kansas City. Additionally, he went ahead to ask how the name would sound with “KC” at the front. This suggestion did not sit well with Phoenix Sports’ Director of Social Media, who then took a personal shot at the star QB.

Patrick Mahomes’ KC Coyotes suggestion gets shot down by a hurtful jibe

Mahomes made his suggestion probably because Kansas City hasn’t been home to an NHL team since the Scouts left town in 1976 in order to move to Denver. Even though the suggestion came from a playful space, it wasn’t taken in the same spirit by Makayla Perkins, the Director of Social Media at Phoenix Sports.

She wrote, “Maybe you should focus more on keeping your little brother out of jail and less on our NHL team.”

The jibes came at a time when Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of the NFL MVP-winning quarterback is facing legal trouble for an incident which took place inside a bar in February.

Jackson Mahomes’ latest scandal is by far his biggest one

The younger Mahomes was never well-liked by the fans of the Chiefs, as many thought of him as a nuisance who piggybacked on his brother’s success. The matter worsened when a court document revealed some serious allegations against Jackson.

According to a document cited by FOX 4 KC, authorities in Overland Park, Kansas, received a call on February 25th regarding an incident involving Jackson Mahomes, who was accused of pushing a restaurant employee at Aspens Restaurant.

The employee stated Mahomes shoved him while he was trying to retrieve his water bottle from the restaurant’s office. Mahomes reportedly attempted to apologize to the employee afterward, and surveillance footage of the incident was reviewed. The investigation escalated after authorities interviewed the restaurant owner and uncovered additional allegations.

According to the station, the woman stated that Mahomes requested to speak with her, and they entered the office where he closed the door. The owner of the restaurant alleged that once they went inside the office, Mahomes grabbed her throat, forcefully pushed her head back, and kissed her three times.

The woman claimed that she did not give her consent for had happened and tried pushing him away. Allegedly, Mahomes instructed her not to disclose what had happened to anyone. The woman informed two servers about the incident and showed them her injuries, as mentioned in the document.

Jackson was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of battery in Johnson County, Kansas. Mahomes paid a bond of $100,000 and, as part of the bond conditions, he and his attorney were prohibited from making any public statements about the case.
