BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — The Ada County Sheriff's Office says they arrested a 26-year-old Boise woman after a short police chase Monday night.
The sheriff says Choleigh Jones was seen driving a green 2003 Volkswagen with stolen license plates at the Overland Road and South Vinnell Way intersection just after 8:30 p.m.
The deputy says he followed the car into a fast food restaurant's parking lot and then turned on his lights to initiate a traffic stop.
Instead, the sheriff's office says Jones took off, driving towards the interstate on-ramp at I-84 and Cole Road.
The deputy was able to catch up with Jones on the on-ramp and perform a PIT maneuver to force her vehicle to stop, according to the sheriff.
Deputies say they then saw Jones throw a plastic bag out of the window when they approached the car.
The sheriff's office says the bag contained 20 grams of methamphetamine and that deputies found packaging materials, a digital scale, and pipe inside the car.
When Jones was being booked into the Ada County Jail, deputies say they found several plastic bags that she had hid in her clothes. The bags contained small amounts of marijuana, cocaine, and meth.
Jones was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, grand theft, fleeing a police officer, and introducing contraband into a correction facility.
Her next court date is scheduled for December 5.
